The importance of teamwork in a circus

I did my traineeship at Satasirkus in Pori through the Tour4Youth program, and it turned out to be one of the most exciting experiences of my student life! I chose this place because it’s unique, fun, and full of creative energy. As a tourism student, I wanted to see how art, events, and cultural activities like circus could be used in tourism services, and Satasirkus offered exactly that.

Before starting, I hoped to improve my communication skills, learn how to plan events, and gain confidence in guiding people. I also wanted to understand how professionals work in real tourism and service environments. During my time at Satasirkus, I was involved in many activities such as organizing events, helping with guiding, supporting children during their practice sessions, and learning how the team communicates and markets their services. These experiences taught me how important it is to work as a team, solve problems quickly, and always stay flexible.

Online course gave a good preparation for the traineeship

I also got the chance to assist with social media, help behind the scenes in performances, and see how each small task builds a big experience for the audience. I was surprised positively by how much trust and responsibility I was given, and how supportive everyone was. I felt valued and welcomed from the first day.
This traineeship made me more confident about my future. I hope to work in the tourism field, maybe even start something of my own one day. The experience at Satasirkus helped me realize how creative tourism services can be and how joyful experiences can leave a lasting impact on visitors.

The Tour4Youth program supported me at every step. The online course gave me good preparation before the traineeship began. I also received personal guidance, which helped me feel more confident and organized. And of course, financial support made it possible for me to focus on learning without stress. I am truly grateful for the opportunity and support.

Overall, I just want to say thank you to Tour4Youth and Satasirkus for making this experience so valuable. I learned so much, met great people, and discovered new sides of myself. I will carry this memory with me wherever I go.
